Nate Erlin was born and raised in Berkeley, CA to parents who taught art and science. He has received formal art training and continues to work from live models. His art is inspired by character-rich, discarded, often high-tech objects. He compliments non-traditional surfaces with figures, portraits, and environments that enhance the object's natural character. He has created illustrations and paintings for commercial clients, several publications, and private collections. He resides in the San Diego community of La Jolla.
